A small animal makes it big:

The tarsier is just 15 centimetres long and weights about 100 grammes. The nocturnal primates are spread on the Southeast Asian islands. Characteristics are the oversized eyes, the very movable neck and the long hind legs with which they can carry out wide jumps. The long tail is needed, on the one hand, as a balance organ during the jumps, on the other hand it is used for supporting if the animals clutch in vertical position in a narrow trunk.

As a threatened classified animal (some subspecies are endangered even stronger) which looks at us, draws the attention as an eyecatcher to itself and to the festival. The tarsier adorns the new GREEN SCREEN festival poster.

With it the supporting association strikes a new path. The grown fond parrot diver as the great figure Palle or in the comic of Volker Sponholz who was to be seen in 2007 and 2008 on the posters will still be the official mascot of the festival. Palle introduces one of his friends from the animal kingdom to the audience from now on every year in the festival catalogue which will appear on the respective poster. That way the festival alludes to rare and threatened animal species and contributes a small part to the protection of the nature.

The movies arrived!

We are pleased to tell that we have got more films than last year from even more countries. All in all we received 133 films from 26 countries until closingdate. Many of them are award-winner and we will have 20 world premiers.

The jury will select the festival programme in april/ may.
