Max Mönch grew up in Berlin. After graduating in history, political science and sociology, he has been working as an author for printmedia, film and television. He was one of the co-authors of the award-winning big-screen documentary "The Flag Bearer", which premiered in 2010. Since then, he has developed several science documentaries for ZDF/3sat, ARTE and others.

Director: Friedemann Hottenbacher

Friedemann Hottenbacher, born 1969 in Nagoya/Japan, grew up in Tokyo. 1988 graduated from the German School in Tokyo. 1989 - 1996: Studied communication science, Japanology, sociology and religious studies at the Free University Berlin. During his studies: freelancer for various TV-channels. Since 1997 producer at Japan News Network's correspondents' office in Berlin. Participant in a cultural exchange programme by the Japanese foreign and cultural affairs ministry in Japan 2000/2001. Since September 2001 freelance journalist and filmmaker in Berlin.
