10.- 13. September 2009 at Eckernförde
Eckernförde, the idyllic North German town on the Baltic Sea is presenting the 2.International Wildlife Film Film Festival "Green Screen" in September 2008. Festivals debut was a big success: Viewers saw breathtaking nature films, present filmmakers were enthused and thought about moving to Eckernförde, and the festival organizers decided to repeat GREEN SCREEN in 2008 immediately.
This ambitious project is receiving big support not only by politicians and sponsors, but particularly by their media partner Studio Hamburg whose nature film department will be advising the Festival through all stages.
The Festival "Green Screen" will run from the 4th to the 7th of September 2008 and will present international nature films in the local cinemas. There the visitors will see the competing films, as well as well-known nature films and other short films on the same subject.
The organisers intend to make "Green Screen" into a unique yearly event creating a forum for the international nature film scene developing into an important meeting place for film-makers, TV producers and viewers. Additional "Green Screen" attractions will be seminars, workshops and exhibitions as well as special performances for schools. Viewers will have the opportunity of talking with well-known film directors and producers about their work. The whole town of Eckernförde will be involved in the Festival, with such things as an open-air cinema on the beach, a promenade with music, information stands and even an antique market.
"Green Screen's" programme of presenting outstanding films will provide an unusual insight into the fascinating world of nature and will offer new perspectives for our future life and how we may survive. The work of nature film makers and their fascinating view of life will be demonstrated in specialised discussion groups. The scope and diverse nature of "Green Screen's" events will allow it to develop into a much respected meeting place for film-makers and viewers alike.
