Welcome to the GREEN SCREEN Festival!
The International Wildlife Film Festival GREEN SCREEN is the most popular festival for nature documentaries in Europe and an important international industry meeting place for professionals. Every year, thousands of nature-loving film fans watch the best films from all over the world at GREEN SCREEN. A diverse youth program rounds off the festival days in September.
In September 2021, GREEN SCREEN was extended from the usual five festival days to two weeks in order to reach a large number of visitors even under pandemic conditions. GREEN SCREEN presented 105 nature films from worldwide production. In addition to the face-to-face events, the festival presented an extensive online programme. More than 200 international filmmakers and trade visitors took part in the seminars and celebrated the GREEN SCREEN award winners together, including the documentaries "Diary of a Bee" and "Wild Horses - A Tale from the Puszta", which together won the "GREEN SCREEN Nature Film Award" for best film.
In its 15th festival season, Green Screen will offer a large programme. Around 100 documentaries chosen from worldwide entries will be presented in Eckernfoerde from 4 - 12 September.
