Lothar Frenz, born in 1964, studied biology and journalism at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz. Since 1991 he has been working as a free-lance journalist. He was on the editorial staff at GEO magazine and at the ZDF, he writes books and produces nature documentaries. During shooting for the NDR in the Amazon, he even found a still undiscovered big species - the Giant Peccary. Discovering nature in general is the main aim of his work - whether it be on the doorstep or on remote expeditions.
