She was born in 1971 in Ankara, Turkey. She has studied English Language Teaching at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. After graduating in 1992, she started working for the Department of Documentary Programs at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, TRT. She worked for another 2 years as production assistant for the news program CNN World Report. She spent 2 years in Canada, doing her graduate study on Social Cultural Anthropology at the University of Toronto, specializing in Native Americans. Coming back to Turkey in 1998, she started working at the web site department at TRT where she became permanent. She went to Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA in 2002 and completed a 4-month "Ethnographic Films and Visual Anthropology" certificate program. Back at TRT, she switched back to the documentary department the same year and made the first wildlife documentary of Turkey. She is currently working at the same department.
