Xiang Xianyao, the renowned Science and Education Film director from Shanghai, winner of two Huabiao Film award, has been filming China's rare species series since 2009. These films include amphibians-"The giant salamander," reptiles -"Alligator sinensis," birds-"Paradoxomis heudei," mammals-"Bharal," chordates- "Amphioxus, " fish-"Trachidermus fasciatus" and so on. "Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkey" is his new film about primates. In these films, from an ethological perspective, the director attempts to reveal the mystery of Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkey and explore how to keep the balance among humans, animals and nature.
