Commitment for Seals

A mammal species which had just about disappeared is now reconquering its original habitat: the Grey seal. Although a sensation for scientists, the development is still vulnerable.

Christina Walther studied biology and is a graduated journalist. Since the early 1990s she has been working for NDR. There, she developed different programme formats, especially in the nature and environmental sector, and is the author of many longer films. In the state broadcasting centre in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern she is responsible for the NDR series NaturNah, which features 30-minute documentaries and reports from northern Germany. The intention of these films about local nature and environment is to fascinate viewers as well as offering solutions to battle the ongoing decline in biodiversity.
