Europe's Wild East - The Sumava National Park in the Czech Republic

At the start of the 20th century, the lynx was extinct almost everywhere across Central Europe. Today, it has returned into Sumava National Park in the Bohemian Forest. This landscape's magic lies in the seemingly endless spruce forests covering the wide mountain ranges like a green carpet. Among them lie romantic glacial lakes formed during the Ice Age and mystical moors on the high plateaus. Many rivers originate here, including the land's longest, the Vltava (Moldau).
