THE RETURN OF THE PEREGRINE FALCON

The return of the peregrine falcon in Germany is a wonderful story of conservation biology. DDT, an insecticide, brought falcon populations to a dramatic decline in the 1970s. The last 23 breeding couples in South Germany brought the falcons back.
