Bärland

The coasts of the Northern Asian Pacific are home to the largest number of bears on earth: brown bears, polar bears, Asian black bears. Kings of the wilderness. They are surrounded and ruled by greater powers. The bears hibernate on volcanic slopes, cross icy seas and smell dangers threatening them. Sometimes they revel in abundance, at other times facing months of starvation. This documentary follows all three bear species simultaneously in their adjacent habitats amidst the breathtaking nature of "Bear Country."
