Japans Garten Eden - Die Insel Iriomote

Iriomote Island in Southern Japan is covered by tropical forests, the coasts are protected by mangroves. Some of the rarest animals on earth live here. Among them are the Iriomote cat, a subspecies of the serpent eagle, and the Ryukyu flying fox. Iriomote is a biodiversity hotspot and a UNESCO World Heritage site. With his film “The Christmas Island” award-winning wildlife filmmaker Moritz Katz has shown how to spectacularly set the stage for a small island.
