Life in Hell - Survivors of Darkness

Some animals have peculiar habits or striking adaptations to their environment such as completely white or transparent skin or even total blindness. Scientists investigate how these species manage to survive in the most hostile caves on earth despite a lack of oxygen, nutrients and light.

The film shows caves in Romania, Slovenia and Mexico, in which extreme conditions have brought forth fragile lifeforms.
