SOKO Gartenschläfer

Garden dormice are endemic all over Europe. But suddenly reports are piling up of them going missing. The disappearance of the rodent with the Zorro mask is so mysterious that researchers and conservationists have formed a special task force of unprecedented size and scope. They want to get to the bottom of what causes the massive decline. Investigations are in full swing. The “dormice task force” must solve this mystery if they want to save the species.

Director: Rosie Koch

Rosie Koch, born on 20.09.1970 in Balingen, studied biology in Mainz, Jena and Tübingen after graduating from high school. During an internship in Ludwigsburg, she learned AVID editing, camera work and image processing. During her doctoral thesis in St. Louis, USA, about naked mole rats in Kenya, she created several, partly award-winning, animal short documentaries on her own. Another internship at Story House Productions in Berlin was followed by a 3-year employment at Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg as a researcher and director. In 2010 she founded her own nature film production company Nona Naturedocx. Mostly in collaboration with her partner, the cameraman Roland Gockel, the director and producer creates since then partly award-winning nature and animal films, as well as nature or animal protection relevant reports for public German and French television.
