Director: Christian Baumeister
The multiple award-winning cameraman and director Christian Baumeister (* 1971) is one of the best animal and nature filmmakers in Germany. It stands for breathtaking landscapes, detailed animal portraits and a perfect composition. After completing his studies in biology, he studied animal film. In 2001 he founded the production company Light & Shadow based in Münster. His film projects have taken him all over the world, where many films and some country-wide glossy animal film series have been created. His three-part series "The Andes - Nature at the Limit" was nominated for 2 Emmys in the USA.
Director: Moritz Mayerle
Moritz Mayerle (*1982) studied biology in Stuttgart-Hohenheim and Würzburg. After his diploma thesis at the Max Planck Institute in Martinsried and an internship as production and camera assistant at Naturfilm-Klaus Weißmann, he worked for more than six years at Marco Polo Film in Heidelberg as writer, researcher and producer. Since 2016, he has been working as a freelance writer and director and has since worked on several nature and wildlife films, some of which have won awards. Since 2022, he has also been working as a Green Consultant, advising production companies on sustainable documentary film production.
