Programme Changes

Unfortunately, the festival directors are forced to announce a change of programme.

With great regrets, Rudolf Diesel is unable to give his presentation "High-Speed-Kamera" on Saturday, September 11th at 10 a.m.

A major assignment falls directly into this period, an assignment he is forced to fulfill for various reasons and which he is unable to postpone.
He asks for the participants' understanding, wishing them all an interesting and informative time at the festival.

NDR- NaturNah aus Hamburg,
die Natur- und Umweltreportage

Since 2008, NDR television aires the series "NaturNah", i.e. Near Nature, every Tuesday at 6.15 p.m. The 30 minute episodes show nature features from the four northern German states. Also tackling controversial issues, this nationwide programme considers itself a contemporary and down-to-earth nature and environmental feature.

This year, NDR-NaturNah has suspensefully reported on the extinction of sharks due to the production of so-called "Schillerlocken" or cream horns and shark fin soup. It got to the bottom of things concerning the  Elbe river deepening. It smoothed the run-way for 7000 wild geese and cleared the way for 1 million trees in urban Hamburg.

Last Tuesday, NDR-NaturNah uncovered a scandal:

For 11 years, Hamburg Airport has been campaigning with honey bees in the media and in the public, claiming pure airport honey to be a proof for clean airport air. NDR-NaturNah reporter Kristina Gruse unmasked this PR campaign as nothing but hot (airport) air. We will be showing.

her report about the miraculous Hamburg honey bee, on Saturday, September 11th at 10 a.m. at the Stadthotel.

NDR-NaturNah journalist Kristina Gruse is very hands-on in experiencing and presenting nature topics from Hamburg, always in contact with people representing these themes: nature savers and sinners, researchers, fishermen, woodsmen and others close to nature. She seeks, asks, looks over shoulders and - if necessary - joins in. As it were, Kristina is on the move in and around Hamburg representing the viewers - in nature matters.
