Ticket Machinery is Gaining Momentum

Even before the official start of ticket sales on August 28th, the ticket office is receiving orders and reservations, including the school screenings on the first two festival days.

ECKERNFÖRDE In two weeks, the 8. International Wildlife Film Festival Green Screen will open its gates. As of Thursday, August 28th, tickets will be selling at 5 Euros each (reduced price 4 Euros) and the festival pass - valid for 15 shows - at 35 Euros (reduced 30 Euros). The ticket sales office in the Stadthotel will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

But already, the office is very busy with lots to do, because far more than 400 advance bookings and reservations have been reaching the small office since the beginning of August per email or by phone. And each order comprises an average of 5 to 6 tickets.
Heike and Ulrich Cramer are on the team for the seventh year now. They have a clear view of the process and really know their stuff, giving the two newcomers Susanne Fischbach and Klaus Dreher many useful tips. Altogether, about 20 voluntary helpers are active in taking orders, entering them into the ordering system and distributing the tickets accordingly. This work must be well organised if all is to go smoothly during the festival itself. Schools in particular book their tickets in advance. An important link between ticket sales, the venues and the schools is Kerstin Borowski, who is responsible for organising everything concerning the school screenings - including transportation with bus services. Four school screenings are already sold out. These include films like "Elephant King" and "The Common Dormouse - Wide Awake at Night" in the Stadthalle. "The schools would be wise to place their orders for specific films as soon as possible", is Ulrich Cramer's advice, even if there still are plenty of tickets available. However, experience shows that this may change very quickly. The school screenings are scheduled for Thursday and Friday during the festival, i.e. September 4th and 5th. They amount to a total of 24 shows, beginning at 10 and 11.30 a.m. at each of the six venues (Willers-Jessen-Turnhalle, Galerie 66, Haus, Ratssaal, OIC, Stadthalle).
This year, the late summer holiday period poses a bit of a problem, since all schools must organise and prepare their visits in the short interval after the start of school, which was on August 25th.
But the members of the Green Screen volunteer team will not be deterred by adversities or problems. And so - the festival machinery is running full speed ahead in its key sections.
