Life Force - Brazil`s Cerrado

"Life Force" explores and celebrates evolution by means of pioneering science documentaries. In Brazil's ancient Cerrado grasslands, eccentric creatures are evolving in complete independence. All life revolves around mysterious mudpie-shaped monoliths. Evolution's ways are defined by synchronised life cycles and the extreme climate. This has helped to develop creatures with impressive capabilities, unique forms and unusual habits.

Director: Satoshi Okabe

Satoshi Okabe puts a degree in marine biology and experience as a scuba-diving instructor to good use as an NHK producer specializing in underwater programs. His programs on subjects such as coral spawning and the fishes of Lake Tanganyika have won numerous international awards including a Special Jury Prize at the Banff TV Festival and one of Japan's most respected prizes for scientific TV programs, the Takayanagi Memorial Award.
