Olga Poliektova and Tatiana Poliektova - We are twin sisters born in St-Petersburg, Russia. We graduated from art school in 2000, entered the University of Movies and Television in St-Petersburg and graduated in the department of computer graphics and animation in 2008.
Our collaboration as a film director duo and as animators has brought an original and unique style into our animation films. We have been combining traditional drawing on paper with modern stop motion and computer technique over the last 10 years.
Our diploma animation film “O sole mio!”, our 2010 debut film “Tomato story” and several other stop motion short films won numerous awards at many festivals worldwide.
After a commercial film cooperation with the Swiss Bank in 2010 we worked together with “CTB” Film Company and “TiO & RDST Company ltd”, resulting in the animation film “Noise” which was screened at the festivals in Cannes and Moscow in 2012.
In 2012 we were invited to join the jury and to conduct a workshop at a Film Festival in Italy.
In 2013 we made the animation film "Quagga" in production with tve (television for the environment) and Bloomberg, London. Later in the year, we were invited to join the amazing group project “Cantforget.it” Digital Diary Liguria (Italy). We are currently working on a new film "My grandfather was a cherry tree", made after the book by Italian writer Angela Nanetti.
