The documentary "45 Min: Deepening of the Elbe - what are we risking?" delivers hitherto unknown facts abput the ecological impact of the planned ninth deepening of Hamburg's Elbe river. Including the risks for endagered sea fowl like the common tern.

One year in Central America, in cooperation with "stern"-correspondent Hans-Joachim Löwer, Mexico City. Publications among others in "stern"-magazine and in various books.1984 initial contacts to NDR television on the basis of photojournalism. First, features for the NDR regional programme, "Hamburger Journal" and "Freitagsmagazin", later also for "In Sachen Natur", "Extra 3" and "Panorama". From 1984 until now continuous freelance television author for NDR, for regional programmes, children's TV and 30- to 90-minute documentaries on the national channels of NDR and ARD. Director: Sebastian Bellwinkel

TV author/director and producer Sebastian Bellwinkel, born 1973, lives and works in Hamburg. His focus lies on socio-critical and investigative reports and documentations.
While studying political sciences and philosophy he worked as a freelancer for WDR radio and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Having completed an internship with NDR in 2001 he initially worked as author and live reporter (home affairs/judiciary, cultural affairs) for the NDR daily news magazine ‘Hamburg Journal’. Since 2006 he has authored and directed numerous documentations and reports for ARD and NDR.
Between May 2013 and December 2015 he was editor for NDR cultural affairs and documentations.
His NDR production “45 min – Sex Object Child” was nominated for the prestigious 2010 Grimme Award
