Following gardener Dieter Dankelmann throughout the seasons, the film

illustrates what it takes to create a home for wild animals. Meanwhile

the film focuses on the life of an edible dormouse family.

Christian Neumann, born in Marburg/Lahn, is a German biologist and film maker. He studied biology at the Philipps-Universität Marburg. Currently he is working on his Ph.D. at the university in Trier about the evolution of rattle-snakes. He is involved in the protection of crocodiles and turtles in Venezuela. Since 2004 he appears as an expert onscreen regularly and since 2005 he is an author of numerous contributions for animal films like ‘hundkatzemaus’, ‘Wildes Wohnzimmer’ and ‘Tierzeit’. In the last 3 years he made several films for the NDR ‘Nordreportage’ and ‘Naturnah’
