No other animal travels as far as an albatross. In a few weeks he circled the whole globe. On Bird Island in the middle of the stormy Southpolar Ocean thousands of albatrosses are breeding, including their flagship, the wandering albatross.

Uwe Westphal is a passionate birder with an extraordinary skill: he is imitating birds voices up to perfection. He calls himself a nature entertainer and hundreds of people follow his shows and dive into the colourful environment of birds.

Author Ines Possemeyer was born in 1968 in the German town of Ibbenbühren.
Even before finishing her journalism studies at Hamburg's Henri-Nannen-School and an M.A. at Hamburg University in 1998, she had been active as a freelance television author since 1993. And since 1999, the multi-award winning journalist has been working as a scientific editor for GEO magazine. She has been awarded the Heureka Journalist's Prize, the Media Award from the German Hygiene Museum, the RWTH-Prize for Scientific Journalism as well as other prizes, for example from the European Parlament and the international NGO „German Foundation for World Population”.
2014 she was among the top ranking entries for the Hansel-Mieth journalism prize.

was born 1971 in Oberhausen and studied communication sciences and ethnology. After attaining her degree, she attended the University of Television and Film, Munich (HFF München) as an extra-mural student in documentary film. Film writer and director since 1998. For ARD and ARTE she made various prize-winning documentaries and wildlife films, among them „Luchswege“ (about lynxes), „Terror im Reich der Orkas“ (about orcas), „Highway der Schmetterlinge“ (about butterflies) and the full-length documentary film „Jagdzeit“ (about anti-whaling activists).
