The Festival 2017
In its 11th year, the International Wildlife Film Festival GREEN SCREEN absolutely continues to attract the public and has again confirmed its position as the largest film festival of its kind within German-speaking countries. It is headed by the new festival director and science journalist Dirk Steffens, who took over the office from his predecessor and festival founder Gerald Grote in the beginning of 2017. And again, with 18100 viewers and 164 accredited visitors, new records were set. Adding the audience numbers of numerous events throughout the year, for example the screenings in Sonderburg (Denmark), the school film week and the sh:z film tour, the festival was again attended by around 30 000 wildlife film enthusiasts in all of Schleswig-Holstein and from Denmark. And for the first time, the festival had a motto - „Protecting the Seas". In 2018, the concept of a festival theme will be continued with the topic "Biodiversity".
