Die Ostfriesischen Inseln

Geboren aus Sand

Created solely by the interaction of wind, currents and tides, the East Frisian Islands play an important role in coastal protection as a barrier. But they are even more important for wildlife. Especially birds, which can hardly breed on the mainland due to predators and intensive agriculture, find shelter and peace here. The film shows tiny creatures, brave fighters like the sand plover, which breed in the front line on the beach, and surprising visitors, like the hedgehog.
