Holger Gerth, born in 1949, grew up on his parents' farm in Schönböken, district of Plön. After graduating from high school, he studied agricultural sciences at the CAU in Kiel, followed by a doctorate with Prof. Knauer on a landscape ecology topic. Holger Gerth has been married since 1973 and now lives on the farm as a senior citizen. He has two children and four grandchildren. In 1979, Holger Gerth started his professional career at the SH Chamber of Agriculture with the Department of Nature Conservation. In 1988 he became head of the environmental department. As a sideline, he headed the State Association of Water and Soil Associations for more than 10 years as Managing Director and opened it up for tasks in the field of landscape conservation as well as nature conservation. In subsidiaries of the Chamber of Agriculture, which Holger Gerth led for several years as managing director, he was responsible for the preparation of municipal landscape plans and for environmental management systems for agricultural enterprises. At LC - Landwirtschafts-Consulting GmbH he was responsible for the area of product certification. Since leaving the Chamber of Agriculture in 2006, Holger Gerth has been a lecturer at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Department of Agricultural Economics, among other things for the elective subject of nature conservation, environmental protection and landscape management until 2021. In 2013 he was appointed honorary professor at Kiel UAS. Holger Gerth has been the honorary chairman of the Ruhwinkel e.V. nature conservation association since 1983 and is entrusted with the care of the Fuhlensee nature reserve. This nature reserve is located in his home municipality, for which he served as mayor in an honorary capacity for 12 years. Since 2007, he has been a member of the executive committee of the Schleswig-Holstein Heritage Society (SHHB) with a focus on nature conservation and environmental protection. For several years he was deputy chairman of the state nature conservation association. For several years, he has been active on the board of the Friends of Nature Conservation Foundation and the Foundation for the History of Nature Conservation. Holger Gerth has been an amateur beekeeper since 1979 and thus perceives the many environmental influences on the insect world. Besides observing nature, his hobbies include exploring by bicycle and water hiking. In 2011, Holger Gerth was appointed State Commissioner for Nature Conservation for 5 years by the then Minister of Nature Conservation, Dr Juliane Rumpf. This position was renewed in 2016 by Dr Robert Habeck and in 2021 by Jan Philipp Albrecht for 5 years each. In this office, he is strongly committed to nature conservation in Schleswig-Holstein, striving for a fair balance with user claims on our environment.
Mona Haffner

Mona Haffner has been an independent filmmaker in the field of nature & science since 2015. She started working for the renowned production company Marco Polo Film in Heidelberg over thirteen years ago and gained many years of experience in production as well as post-production. Today, she works mainly on behalf of ZDF for the Mainz-based production company k22Film as a writer. With them, she has already realised several high-class Terra X documentaries with a focus on geology and accompanied the team to the remotest corners of the earth. Originally trained as a graphic designer, she is also responsible for the graphic design, as well as organising the animations and managing the post-production.
Michael Packschies

A geographer by profession, Michael Packschies is a staunch environmentalist working for Eckernförde municipality for more than 30 years in charge of environmentally compatible town and landscape planning. He is responsible for environmental public relations activities. In that capacity he met up with his school pal Gerald Grote in 2004. On that occasion they first discussed the possibility of a wildlife film festival. Gerald Grote went on to become the first Green Screen festival director and Michael Packschies the interface between Eckernförde municipality and GREEN SCREEN. Michael dedicates a significant part of his personal time to the festival.
Lars Pfeiffer

As a cameraman, Lars Pfeiffer has specialized in unique aerial nature shots with the use of drones in addition to the classic tripod camera. With his modern image design, he has enriched award-winning projects such as "Lost Kings of Bioko" for the Smithsonian Channel/ARD, "Zugvögel" for ZDF/ARTE and "Elephanten Hautnah" for NDR/ARTE. His enthusiasm for pristine landscapes have already taken the Hamburg native to the Arctic and Antarctica - he is fascinated by untouched nature, wildlife and unique people who go beyond their limits to discover remarkable things. With his company VISION AIRWAYS he focuses on the production of modern, high-definition documentaries in the genre of nature, science, wildife, conservation and adventure.

"After graduating from high school, Claudia Schmitt trained as a media designer and studied film studies in Berlin. Her great passion for nature and the seas brought her to diving in 2008. Shortly after, she founded the company "The Jetlagged" with her partner Hendrik, for which she works as an underwater cinematographer and producer. Since then, she has been shooting in various locations around the world, creating commissioned work as well as her own films on topics such as the construction of artificial coral reefs or the establishment of the world's largest manta ray sanctuary in Indonesia. Environmental and marine conservation is a consistent theme of their work - through their films and immersive 360° experiences, The Jetlagged aim to raise more awareness about the importance of the oceans and how to better protect them. The Jetlagged have won numerous awards at international film festivals with their films."

After studying German and English, 2 years abroad in Great Britain and a subsequent wrong turn as a trainee at a Gelsenkirchen high school, Jan Biekehör learned the TV trade in a free production company in the early 1990s. This was followed by a few years as an author and producer for various German broadcasters, before he became editor-in-chief for the animal formats at VOX, namely "tierzeit" and "hundkatzemaus" in 2000. Since 2009 he has worked as an executive producer on a number of VOX formats that no longer have to do exclusively with animals, including "rent, buy, live", "cleverly threaded", "the emergency call center" or "the substitute teacher". And “dog-cat-mouse” also had kittens. The animal portfolio at VOX currently includes the Martin Rütter formats “The Dog Professional” and “The Dog Professional On The Go”, “The Horse Professionals”, “The Hard Dogs” and the “Baby Animals”, plus “Close Up - The Animal Clinic”, the first major VOX project that relies entirely on fixed rig technology. Together with the long-running hit "hundkatzemaus", these programs make VOX the station with probably the largest volume of regular animal programs in the entire German television landscape.

Antonia Coenen (1976) has been managing the film production company LOUPEFILM in Cologne and Berlin since 2003. produces documentaries with a focus on the environment, species protection and animal welfare for public television, as well as commercials for NGOs and sustainable companies such as the companies such as GLS Bank. As a director, she has received numerous awards for her documentaries, including the Green Report 2016 for the film "The Truth About Fur". In 2017, she founded the initiative "BERLINER SPATZENRETTER", which campaigns for the survival of building nesting birds and nature education at schools in Berlin. Antonia is a hobby orni and realizes together with Philipp Juranek since March 2020 the podcast "GUT ZU VÖGELN" (Spotify, ITUNES, Amazon and Audible). Making behavioral patterns recognizable to everyone. That is Dietmar Nill's passion. Already in his youth he was interested in nature. He became a professional nature photographer and was awarded 5 times as nature photographer by the GDT. But only pictures were not enough for him in the long run, he wanted moving pictures. With filming he found a new challenge and through slow motion fascinating insights into behavior became possible. His first film "Bats- Wait until dark" received several awards. At the Green Screen Festival, the film "Bats- Wait until dark" received the the Heinz Sielmann Film Award and the 2nd prize at the Natur Vision Film Festival for Dietmar Nill and Brian McClatchy in the category "Best Camera". The "Journey of the Snowy Owls" a winter fairy tale was nominated in 2016 at the Green Screen Festival in the Audience Award category. Also in Japan at the Wildlife Festival the film received the award " Best Animal behavior".

Dennis Wells

Dennis Wells is a multi-award winning director and producer of science and wildlife films. After studying sociology in Germany and Canada, he began his career as a radio journalist and later switched to television. With his films he has made a name for himself nationally and internationally with detail-obsessed research, visual opulence, and gripping storytelling. He works for ARD, ZDF, arte, the Canadian CBC, as well as PBS and the Smithsonian Channel in the USA. For more than 10 years he has developed and supervised single and multi-part series for taglicht media and also directs certain projects himself. He lives with his family of 5 as close as possible to the Rhine in Cologne.

Matthias Valkema, employed as a landscape architect at the Foundation for Nature Conservation Schleswig-Holstein, has been First Chairman of NABU Eckernförde since 2014 and has worked for several years to ensure that NABU (Federal Government, State SH and Eck.) donates an award. Matthias Valkema supported this year's jury in the evaluation of the category GREEN REPORT.

I attend the Jungmann-Gymnasium in the 9th grade and have been watching nature films for many years and very much like them - of course also the GreenScreen contributions in Eckernförde. This year I am also doing my first student internship - of course at GreenScreen :-) I'm really looking forward to the task as a member of the youth jury and the great films and filmmakers who apply to GreenScreen this year!

My name is Lara Sophie Elisa Stolle and I will be 13 years old this year. In the summer of 2021, I was at the GreenScreen youth film camp at the Eekholt Zoo. Here I was able to combine my enthusiasm for animals with something completely new. Both behind and in front of the camera, I learned how to bring animals and stories into picture and sound. With this experience in my luggage, I am now happy to be part of the youth jury of the GreenScreen Festival this year.

Heinz Hermanns founded the international short film festival Berlin - interfilm in 1982. Since 2018 he is also the artistic director of the AIFF in Almagro International Film Festival/Spain. He directed the short film festival "Going Underground", which took place in Berlin/Seoul trains. He is co-founder/curator of the Zebra Poetry Film Festival Berlin. In 2014, he directed the first ShortVisions short film festival in Ningbo, China. He has given workshops and seminars in 35 countries, works as a script consultant, and has been a professor of short film at SCAU University in Guangzhou, China since 2016.

Hendrik S. Schmitt is the filmmaker behind the name The Jetlagged - and always on the lookout for new underwater adventures from the Arctic Circle to the equator. From the most exciting places on earth, he delivers action-packed films with dreamlike images from the underwater world. Hendrik has been working as a freelance director for international film productions in various fields for almost 20 years. It was only a matter of time until his passion for the sea led him to also realize film stories about the oceans. So in the last years Hendrik made films like "We live underwater" about coral reef restoration in Indonesia, "Little Teeth" about a shark conservation program in Bali, "The Pale Horse - Coral Apocalypse" about the global coral bleaching 2016, a music video for Sea Shepherd and "The Patterns of the Ocean", his latest film about the establishment of the Indonesian manta ray sanctuary. Hendrik's films have screened at film festivals around the world and have won numerous international awards. The exciting ocean stories are meant to inspire people to discover, enjoy and protect the oceans.

Monika Tenhündfeld (*27.09.1983) is an award-winning director as well as character animator from Vogt, Germany. From 2010 to 2016 she studied at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where she graduated in 2016. Before getting involved with films, Monika trained as a painter and varnisher. From 2006 to 2010 she studied communication design at the HTWG Konstanz, where she received an award at the Junior ADC (Art Directors Club) in 2008 for her work "Annual Report 2009". Her first film "Ich brauch mehr ROT!" won the film award in the category "Best Animation / Experimental Film" at the Bamberg Short Film Festival in 2012, "Second Audience Award" at the Rüsselsheim Film Festival, as well as the "Award for the Best Concept" at the Shortynale in Klosterneuburg. With her diploma film "Am Boden der Tatsachen" she received the "Audience Award" at the "Rüsselsheimer Filmtage", the "European short film" award in the category "Best Comedy Short", as well as the "Prädikat besonders wertvoll" of the "Deutsche Film- und Medienbewertung FBW". In 2017, together with Markus Sauermann and Klaus Morschheuser, she won a pitch to develop a new TV series. In 2019, two pilot episodes of "Zoohuwabohu" were completed for WDR and aired on "Sendung mit der Maus".

After an internship at ZDF (History/Society, Tabaluga Tivi and Online) and several years of freelance work in print, radio and television, she began working as a producer at Gero von Boehm's film production company Interscience Film in 2004. There she was co-responsible for numerous productions, including the Terra-X documentaries "Unterwegs in der Weltgeschichte mit Hape Kerkeling" or "Zwischen den Fronten" with Peter Scholl-Latour, as well as for the talk shows "Gero von Boehm begegnet..." (3Sat) and "Paris-Berlin" (Arte). Since 2011 she has been working for Marco Polo Film AG as a producer, editor and writer. Among others, she was involved in the films "Jenseits der Alpen" (5 parts ZDF/Arte), "Wunderwelt Schweiz" (4 parts SRF/3sat), "Karussell des Lebens - Die Streuobstwiese" (BR/Arte), "Frühlingswelten" (WDR) and "Eisbärensommer" (WDR/Smithsonian Networks).

Korina Gutsche is a ‘green’ consultant, teacher, speaker and advocate for sustainability and the environment in media production since 2012. She teaches seminars for professionals and students alike on sustainable film making all over Germany and also freelances as production manager sustainability. Korina’s professional habitat are nature- and environmental films and filmfestivals, bringing attention to global issues trough films such as the global climate crisis and achieving the 17 sustainability goals. From 2014 to 2019 she also initiated and taught youth film-workshops on green-storytelling and climate-friendly film production. The shortfilm 'Anul' made by kids age 12 till 16 won the GREEN SCREEN, 'GreenReport Junior’ award in 2018. Korina was the curator for the eco friendly ‘Bike-screenings‘ showing environmental documentaries at UFA Fabrik in Berlin and the International Ocean Film Festival CINEMARE. Korina sits on various sustainability expert filmpanels and serves as Jury member at several film festivals. She is an activist for peace, biodiversity and oceanic conservation. Her Motto is: We love making movies sustainable.

After studying visual communication, Alexander Sommer specialized in filming animals and has since worked as a cameraman for national and international animal film productions. As a writer and director, he initially realized numerous educational films for biology classes at German schools. In 2021 he made his television debut with his first own production "Wilde Heimkehrer". In his work at the camera as well as a director, Alex attaches great importance to dramaturgical storytelling and a visual closeness to the animal protagonists.

Green Motion is the name of the label that has been mandatory for many productions and subsidies since January 1, 2022. But what does it take to get the label? Who is it interesting for? Which subsidies are only possible with the label? Which criteria are difficult or impossible to fulfill? Where are the hooks in the CO2 calculator? What role can those responsible for nature and environmental documentaries play in the transformation of the media industry? And what is already being practiced successfully in nature films? Korina Gutsche has many years of practical experience as a consultant in the media industry and reports on the relevance, the status quo, and the challenges in implementing effective climate protection measures. Moritz Mayerle has supervised current film productions of Marco Polo Film AG in the context of the 100 Green Productions and the Reallabor. He shares his best practice experiences in implementation specifically with regard to nature films. Dirk Steffens reports: What are the guidelines and requirements for broadcasters? Are they in the obligation or the producers?

Every person hopes never to be in an emergency medical situation, in which he/she or a loved one could be seriously harmed. could come to serious harm. But what if something else happens and you are suddenly confronted with an emergency situation yourself? suddenly confronted with an emergency situation? Anyone who spends time in remote areas - i.e., away from urban structures - will quickly discover that away from urban structures - will quickly discover that in a medical emergency situation "normal" first aid courses are usually not sufficient.
