Eckernfoerde talks

Tue, Sep 10th 2019 Stadthalle Eckernförde

DOORS OPEN: 6:30 pm

BEGINNING: 7:00 pm

Climate protection is presently very popular. In practical terms, measures that are being decided and pronounced primarily support the economy and do not stand the test of a comprehensive ecological audit as far as longtime environmental effects and efficiencies are concerned. If we had really and seriously implemented nature conservation measures in the past decades, we might not need to worry about climate protection nowadays. How significant are the maintenance and recovery of forests and moors? What is the interaction between the disappearance of biotopes and loss of species on one hand and climate change on the other hand? Where are the problems as such? And what chances do we have left?

Panellists are:

  • Prof. Dr. Christian Berg, professor for sustainable development, presidium member Club of Rome, Germany
  • Dr. Dorit Kuhnt, state secretary at the ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment, Nature and Digitisation (MELUND) of the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein
  • Dirk Steffens, filmmaker, conservationist, presenter, Green Screen festival director
  • Dr. Walter Hemmerling, member of German Nature Heritage Council, Head Stiftung Naturschutz Schleswig-Holstein
